Terrible Selection and Terrible Clerk

My experience at Eyes on Burrard was TERRIBLE. My experience is one that unbelievably happened between myself and the owner/clerk. I went in with my family, my brother, his girlfriend and my mother to browse for a new pair of sunglasses. I tried on maybe five pairs.

The clerk helping me kept looking at my bags as if he thought I was going to steal. When I actually had a few hundred bills to spend.

The worst part about this story is that my boyfriend is actually away on business so he isn't able to be with me for the next few months. Of course I would like to send him a picture of the glasses I want before I buy them! I was pretty sure about one pair so I asked the clerk if I could have the name so I could send a picture to my boyfriend. He said flat out "No". I explained that the other clerk gave me a number without any issues as I was going to come back. He said "No" so hesitantly I said Okay..

Then I went on trying on the last pair I had in my hand. I went to the mirror and my brother, and mom said they liked them. The clerk came rushing up to me and grabbed them from my head. He said, "You can leave the store now because you're not actually going to buy anything"... I was shocked and mortified. I said "What are you talking about?"
and he told us that we were just "browsing and were not serious shoppers".. and he said "you are going to buy the glasses on-line, and we don't allow 'browsing like that here".

Naturally I was angry as was my company. I said "No I'm not buying them on-line, you don't know anything about me! Because I wanted to try on a few pairs of your overpriced glasses?, which aren't actually worth the attitude and sheer rudeness you and your staff have caused, you assume I'm trying to look around then buy someone else? How dare you!"

Absolutely Nuts! I can not believe this store. I was simply looking for a pair of shades for the summer. I was accused of 'browsing', and watched like a hawk because they thought I was going to steal... AND they were watching my mother!

We all are well dressed and well mannered. This store is anything but.
This store is utterly terrible.

I would recommend going to any other store on Robson. They are not all this posh or accusatory I promise!

Beautiful eyewear -- Manager/owner inappropriate

I recently purchased a pair of expensive glasses at Eyes on Burrard.
They have a beautiful selection of higher end eyewear including some
more exclusive brands. I was impressed by their selection.
The sales staff were friendly and helpful.
I had asked them to hold 2 frames between which I was trying to decide
and promised to return by the end of the week (3 days later). The next day
I called to ask for the model number of frames I had decided on so I could
look at these online in more detail. I had taken pictures the day before on my
cell phone but they didn't turn out well. The manager/owner (gentleman) was rude and sarcastically
said "we don't give out that information." I asked why and he continued "we're not here
so you can use us to make an online purchase." I told him I was deciding between 2 frames
and he eventually gave me the information. When I returned in a couple of days both frames
had been put back on the shelf. I was stunned!!
I made a point of sharing with him my feelings about his accusational attitude.
Subsequent trips into the store after purchasing my glasses he ignored me.
For such a high end eyewear store I expect much more appreciative and professional
conduct from the owner/manager of the store. I will not be recommending this store to
any of my eyeglass wearing friends. Should have gone to Bruce Eyewear in Gastown.
